I would highly recommend Andrew to anyone wanting to have their young horse started under saddle in the right way. Andrew is very patient and cares about the horses. No harsh or quick fixes. Training done right for a horse you can trust and is trained to be your best friend.

Hello, I would like to take a moment to thank Andrew Crow from Gentle Touch Horse Training for the help with my horse Sundance.  After a year working with my horse using the Clinton Anderson Method he was doing great even when I first got him saddled up.   But I needed someone to help me take him to the next level by mounting him and working out any issues.
I was introduced to Andrew by a friend and liked him right away . After talking with him and finding he uses similar methods I told him what I was needing. Andrew has worked with Sundance the last 2 months (April and May 2015) in continuing to do some ground work and mounting him and working out any issues under the saddle.
Andrew has proven to be kind, yet firm in his handling of Sundance. He is a reliable trainer who you can trust and listens to your concerns as well as your horse.
I would recommend Andrew Crow to anyone needing training for thier horse
Thanks again Andrew

In November 2014 I discovered Andrew Crow of Gentle Touch Horse Training.  We had a Mustang mare that was in desperate need to have her feet trimmed and she was a wild horse!  We had a problem here because none of us are really trainers.  Along came Andrew Crow!  He saw the need for her to be gentled so we could help her.  So immediately he went to work.  It didn't take him long to win "Rosebud" over with his gentle manner and kindness.  After one month we were able to have her feet trimmed and handle her safely.  Now he is riding her in less then 2 months. Andrew is also working with another mustang here at the Wynema Ranch with amazing results.  I trust Andrew 100% with any of our 125 horses and hope to be using him for years to come!
Thank you Andrew, you are terrific and we love having you here!

As a working class woman, trying to care for 5 horses by myself AND keep them ridden & exercised had become overwhelming. So overwhelming, that I had all but given up on my dream of keeping my horses their whole lives - I had raised 3 of them since they were born, and am very attached to my little herd. I finally decided I needed the assistance of a professional horse trainer for a number of reasons, one of which was to have them help me get the a couple of the horses ready to sell if need be. I knew my horses hadn't had the trail experience needed to make someone a safe trail horse, nor had they been consistently ridden. Friends that would occasionally ride with me were taking their lives in their hands if an ATV came screaming down the trail! I have Arabians and a Saddlebred - all high-spirited, fun-loving horses - but not exactly calm and easy going in stressful situations!

In December of 2013, I found Andrew's ad and made an appointment for him to come out and take a look. In the past, I've dealt with different trainers and hadn't always been satisfied with their methods or their work ethic. I've also known trainers that are flat-out abusive to horses - and I promptly fired them. Long story short, I wasn't sure what I would get with Andrew. I'm writing this recommendation as proof of how pleasantly surprised I was and how satisfied I am with the work he did for me. By listening to my story, getting to know my horses, and using natural horsemanship techniques as well as some of his own personal techniques he has developed, Andrew was able to accomplish a lot in just a couple months. If he hadn't moved to Reno, I know that I would still have him come out from time to time just to help me stay on the right track. He agreed to start my 15 year old broodmare, Fancy, and today she is as safe on trail as any horse out there! Other trainers had told me it was ridiculous to even try to train an older horse - and they'd been telling me that since she was 7 or 8! Andrew had her under saddle within a week or so and actually rode her bareback everywhere we went out on trail as often as he had a saddle on her! Fancy has turned out wonderfully, and is very calm and happy to be ridden. She has a new lease on life thanks to Andrew's patience and skill in training. She could have easily never been trained and sold as a broodmare, but that wasn't the life I wanted for her and I am so grateful to Andrew for agreeing to 'try' her out. More than anything, it's that attitude that impressed me most about him. He will tell you honestly what he thinks. If he thinks he can help with a problem horse, he will. If he runs across an issue he hasn't dealt with before, he will research it and get back to you with answers. Above all, you can trust Andrew with your horses. Horses seem to be drawn to him naturally, anyway :) Andrew's work ethic is inspiring, and you absolutely will get everything you are paying for (and then some). He is dependable to show up on time, and trustworthy, and very knowledgeable. I think you will be very pleased if you decide to hire him. If I can be of any further assistance, you are welcome to ask Andrew for my contact information.
